Thank you to all Players who attended Event Horizon Session #53.

It takes quite a few games to become oriented on Treacherous Ground working out where all the various Teleporters are and where they go, plus the various Routes and Paths etc. The Bases are connected via a Forerunner structure, with both Higher and Lower ground above and below. Also Tunnels lead out from the Bases to different areas including up to the Banshee and Sniping Platforms. The simplest route lies directly between the Two Bases, but is not necessarily the best one to use! It's factors like this which makes Maps more interesting to play. :P

All Game Types are supported in Treacherous Ground but Slayer and KOTH are highly recommended. CTF works but because of the short route between the Two Flags Bases a game can end very fast. To make CTF viable both Teams must be very well balanced, but it's still debatable if it's worth playing. Oddball is much more fun, (although having the huge potential of dropping the Ball down the Cliff) and there is a risk of Players using a Banshee to hide at the Cliff Bottom, but even so Game Play seems to be acceptable. Race is weird, it works but isn't recommended.

Only Generic Weapons are supported on Treacherous Ground along with 2 Banshee Vehicles which do actually add to the enjoyment. In fact no one complained about Players using a Banshee in the Map, (not even once) which is quite unusual.

The biggest problem with Treacherous Ground is the Spawning. Some Players would Spawn inside a Crate, and it appeared these Crates really loved msale®no who seemed to Spawn inside one almost every time. Whilst other Players occasionally reported Spawning into a wall and being stuck. :sigh:

This Event saw a Maximum of 14 Players, (averaging ~ 10 ) and given the Map Size this was perfect, although Treacherous Ground can easily support all 16 Players and, (dependent on Game Type) is recommended for 4 Players upwards. This was a great Session lasting over 2 Hours.

Personally I enjoyed playing Treacherous Ground and it was popular with most Players. In fact after over 2 Hours continually playing the same Map, the Event was terminated simply because I'd had enough and there weren't any other Server Admins available to keep it going even though more Players were still joining and wanting to play.

I would play Treacherous Ground again provided the Spawning issues were fixed because basically it's a good Map. :eh:

Very nice map - I didn't notice anything out of sorts. EXCEPT - spawning in a crate, time after time. It happened a total of 6-7 times, on CTF. Never on any other GT.

Lucky me ;)
