Post subject:  Tactics

Since our little tournament starts soon let's talk about tactics.
One thing that makes me totally rage is when team members don't follow the basic tactic we discussed in the beginning. Lets me explain why:

I just played this scrim right now. 3v3 on Sidewinder.
Now the way we agreed to play was that one holds the top with a sniper and a rocket and just keeps the enemy away from the base.
And the other two take ghosts and drive through the tunnels. It's very easy to understand.
Now sometimes an individual doesn't like sticking to the tactic and decides not to use his ghost at all and just goes top too.
This of course leads to total mayhem as now your base gets overrun by the enemy ghosts and you will lose the game.

So the first lesson is: :teacher:
Always stick to the tactic you discussed with your team before the match!
Don't leave your post just because you get killed or don't enjoy it. You will break the whole gameplay of your team.

Now it's your turn 8)
Everybody please post a little bit of tactical advice. It can be generic info or map specific tips and tricks.
So by the time the tournament begins we will have something like a newbie guide.

Easiest rule in teamgame is not to die. This means you must not rush if you cant be 90% sure to kill the next enemy even his the one whos most likely going to suprise you. Ofc you dont want to stay in base and let them get hw etc but when you have reached your destination and got control its best to hold it than just rush if your team cant assist you.

Funny is that this might be the hardest rule to do practically
At least for me this seems impossible especially when im on losing side. I start to try too much which means i think i can take down all opponents alone when i run towards all them without any cover :D

Patience is the key :teacher:

All true guys.
try to suprise the enemy by coming in their back if possible. Like standing behind the tele's and tunnels if you are sure that a player will come out. As long as you stand behind them they won't see u ofc and you will have plenty of time to even backstab him. :xD:

I just wanna add; If you don't like your position discuss it with your team and they'll probebly look if you can switch from position with each other.

i think the most important rule is communication u have to talk the whole game over teamspeak about positions of enemy so u know every time where the enemy is, and u can push or stay defense.

its important too , to hold mapcontrol there are on every map important places u have to control. like danger canyon pit room

Ok, also important NEVER go afk in the middle of the game. If you don't have time for a scrim or have other things to do just don't play.

So here is a little gameplay tip for Sidewinder most of you of course already know but its pretty neat nontheless:

And here is something you SHOULD NOT do, I call it the nub crouch. It's pretty common on version 1.00 but I started to see it on realworld servers too lately

See how the red guy hits crouch repeatedly. It looks ridiculously and doesn't help evading my shoots either.

A good crouch from time to time is essential to survive especially when your shield is popped as your enemy will then aim at your head for sure. But doing it like in aboves example is just plain wrong.
Just learn to strafe (watch the Basic Essentials Video I posted in the other thread)
