Well if you're in your base then you're most likely in your base because you respawned there, so it's nice to get some info when danger is approaching before you teleport out of the base and therefore leave it empty.
And most of the time you really don't have enough of it to type a lot when you're fight.

So just saying "inc" makes sense, of course it's always better to tell from where. Like in ratrace you say "inc tun" if there are enemys incomming from the tunnel.

Here is an example in beavercreek.

You have one of your guys stand on top of your base and two on top of the enemy base.
Now one jumps down through the hole into the enemy base and throws the flag to the other player that is still on top. He then jumps down behind the base and goes through the teleporter to our base and throws the flag up to the one hiding on our base who can then jump down and score.

For the enemy it will be like: "Red team has the flag" and five seconds later "Red team score". Especially if the one running with the flag has picked up the camoflage.

I have something to say here, it is also possible to throw the flag through the larger window on both bases :), no need to have an ally stand on top of your own base (unless he's holding off enemies of course).

I'd suggest captains also take time to tell the members of their team the basic halo terms.

For Example: Cap = capture the flag, lo3= Live on 3 (Restart map 3 times to make it "Official").
Bloodgulch the map has quite a few terms, a few are BH= Big Hill, FRG= Fuel Rod Gun, Cliff= Usually refers to the sunny cliff, OS= Over shield (Applies for all Over Shields), OS Cave= Over shield cave by the BIG hill.

Anyone else like to add some?

/change FRG> rod
/add camouflage > camo =)

Adding something ;O
If you have the rod on DangerCanyon (or rox if you're reckless  ), you can jump up from the middle tuns up the platform to enemy base to reduce travelling time and surprising your enemies :D
Although you'll hurt yourself quite badly so make sure:
  • you are having an os
  • there are no enemies in the tunnel
  • or you are epicly awesome and rape everyone in the tunnel
